Modiste has delivered one more restaurant in a venerable modernist post-war building in Het Industriegebouw, in Rotterdam. Héroine expresses the gastronomic vision of Michael Schook, here teamed up with sommelier Fred de Neef.

The studio has thus maintained the origins of the building and strip the room back to its raw structural elements of concrete, metal window frames and open space floor plan. In the interiors, we can find the Burgundy red couches, the plant wall and the many Wishbone chairs by Hans J. Wegner, that contribute to the warm and 70'style.

"The result is a balanced mix of simplicity and drama, a juxtaposition of essential and opulent in both design, materials and finish to show that Modernism had another ace up its sleeve", explained the studio. Also of interest are the industrial windows, a key element of the space which provides natural light, and also the large oak bar, inspired by American interior designer Warren Platner.

Clients can choose between a four, five, six or seven-course menu, made with seasonal products and inspired by cuisine from around the world. Don't forget to look at the wine list to complete your gastronomic experience - the list is made up of 5 different suppliers and has 100 titles.
